This week was spent primarily on trying to get my new sewing machine up and running. After many hours of frustration, requests for help from my mom and family friends, I was still unable to get my machine running properly. The machine in question dates back to the 1950s or 1960s, and most of the needles I tried to use either did not fit or snapped once I tried to run the machine.

As you can see, this vintage machine looks very nice, but unfortunately I had too many issues with it to continue with this project. Below is some evidence of the troubles I was having this week.

I have decided to change my free inquiry project to another hobby I have wanted to pursue for quite some time now, crochet. While I may not be able to begin my journey until next week, I have began doing some research to find useful tools as I embark on this journey. I plan on following along with the video below to help teach myself the basic stitches.

Moreover, I will likely use the expertise of Nadine from Hopelessly Devoted to Crochet, who created a very simple and easy to follow guide with images for beginners.
