I spent a lot of time this week working on my project. Unfortunately, there was some ribboning happening so I had to undo my work and go back to the waistband. From here, I restarted, ensuring not to insert more than one single crochet into each stitch (besides the increases on either side. I think that may have been my problem with the original version. I had a friend’s mom look at my project as well and she concurred, motivating me to restart and carry on.

This was a frustrating setback for me, as it took me all of last week to get to where I was. When I first realized something was wrong, I considered scrapping this project and trying something that may be easier. I thought maybe a hat or bag may have been a better choice, but when I thought about this project it made me excited. I loved the colours and I loved the idea of being able to wear something that I made with my own hands. While I would be able to wear a hat, I don’t often reach for them so I think shorts would be much more wearable for me. Therefore, I decided to continue on with this project. After a day or two of grumpiness, I was able to start again.

This was the progress I made this week. I am very proud of myself because I was able to go even further than I did last week (even with all my pouting about having to restart). I was able to see clear improvement in my work and in the speed of my work, which has already been motivational for me to carry on. I am glad that my hard work is starting to pay off and my skills are improving.
